Dare to Believe in Magic

The headlines break like thunder, loud and deep,

A world of strife that wakes us from our sleep.

The chaos spins, a restless, heavy tide,

With nowhere left to run, nowhere to hide.

But in this room, the shadows start to thin,

As friends arrive, and let the light come in.

Dare to believe in magic, not the kind of old,

But something warm, a story to be told

In gathered chairs, in instruments and song,

Where weak and weary suddenly belong.

The strumming of a chord, a voice raised high,

Can paint new colors on a graying sky.

We shuffle decks of cards with painted scenes,

To find out what this tangled moment means.

The Tarot speaks of Strength, but not of swords—

It’s in the kindness found in simple words.

It’s in the artist’s hand, the poet’s rhyme,

Defying gravity, defying time.

When fingers dance on ivory and string,

We find the breath to let our spirits sing.

This camaraderie, this sacred space,

Reveals the beauty in the human face.

For when we share our art, our hearts unbind,

And leave the jagged edge of fear behind.

So let the world spin on its axis wild,

We keep the wonder of a trusting child.

Our imagination is the lantern bright,

Guided by love to cut the darkest night.

Believe in magic—it is here, it starts,

Within the beating rhythm of our hearts.
